Submission Rules & Requirements
Thank you for your interest! This may be the first step to a really exciting adventure together. If you have a great song that you would like us to consider, please contact us via our CONTACT PAGE. We look forward to hearing from you. This could be amazing!
PLEASE KNOW, HOWEVER, THAT NOT ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION.
This goes without saying, but given the number of submissions received, we cannot publish every song. So, we will select those songs, in our sole discretion, that we think are most aligned with our mission. It doesn’t mean your song isn’t great. It just means it may not be the best fit for our YouTube channel or other platforms at this time. That said, it is 100% guaranteed that we cannot publish your song if you don’t submit it to us.
Here are some of the rules for submitting a song:
- Lyrics must be your own. You must have all ownership and copyright rights to your lyrics. We are looking for original songs only. If you worked in collaboration with others, we will require that each collaborator sign-off on publication if your song is selected.
- Lyrics cannot be produced using AI. Your lyrics must be human lyrics. We will not accept any lyrics created with or even assisted by AI. This is also almost certainly going to be the position of most major record labels and performers anyway. It’s best to just make sure it’s all original now.
- The lyrics must be put to music. We present lyrics as songs. You can record them yourself or you can use AI music generators to produce them in the style you imagine. (Using AI to create the music alone is OK. It is your lyrics that have to be human created). We will not put your sone to music for you.
- You must have all rights to the song & music. This includes the right to publish the song commercially. Most AI music generators, for example, will not grant you that right, if at all, unless you use a paid plan. SUNO, for example, one of the leading AI music generators, will not grant you the right to post the music you create on YouTube commercially (as of the time of this writing) unless you generate the music under one of their paid plans. So, we will require that you attest to your ownership rights before we can publish your songs. Any violation of this policy will not only prohibit your song from selection, but will prevent any of your songs from even being considered in the future. Honesty is kind of a big deal.
- Your song must be a radio edit. This means it cannot have any explicit material. The Federal Communications Commission governs the requirements for broadcast material. You can find more information HERE, but regardless, we will not accept any material that violates those guidelines, the guidelines for the platforms we use to publish on, or our company policies, which may exceed them all.
- Your song must be radio ready. This goes to quality. Your production quality should be radio ready. Meaning, if you are submitting an original track that you performed, the sound and the quality must meet the standards required for playing the song on the radio.
- The song should be less than 6 minutes in length. It is recommended that the song be between 2-4 minutes in length, but we won't consider it if it exceeds six minutes.
- The file format should be a .wave file. It is OK to submit to us an initial version as an .mp4 file, but we will require a .wave file if accepted for publication.
- The file size cannot exceed 20 MB. Preferably, the file will be no larger than 10MB.
- We offer no guarantees. While we would love for fans, record labels, and artists to want your music, we cannot and will not guarantee that your song will even get one view if selected for publication by us. This journey together is a way for us to both mutually benefit. We grow our platform, influence, and monitized channel, and you get some of your music out there to the public. If it's picked up by a major label because the fans demand it, amazing! If fans clamor toward your own music channels once they hear your songs, amazing! If no one but your mom listens to it, it's not our fault. We just hope for you and for us that its the amazing ones because we really want to see you do great!
Thank you, and we wish you the very best!
